Dragon Boat Race 2009: Potomac River

May 16:
We called our team the "Advanced Dragon"! Unfortunately we got teased by some guy who asked for the "Beginners Dragon". I considered the name "Express Dragon" briefly, but immediately gave up the idea because it would just sounded like some kind of chinese take-out shop...Most team members work in the National Cancer Institute of NIH, but I was lucky enough to tag along and had enjoyed a wonderful day in Georgetown.

PS. Perhaps "Nerd in Heaven" (NIH) can be our name for next year!

Vision Science Society Conference 2009: Naples FL

VSS 2009: May 8-13
My talk was on the first proper day, first thing in the morning, at 8:30. I was glad that people turned up, including myself. My talk entitled "Heads, shoulders, knees and toes: body representations in the human extrastriate cortex". I was trying to make a joke by changing the title into "Heads, shoulders, knees and I need my coffee...", but no one noticed the change (damn it!), I was a bit disappointed. Apart from that, all the rest went well. Met up with old and new friends, loads of fun!
